The Kite-Spots

The windy Fuerte offers two sides: One is the famous south (Sotavento), with the northeast trade wind, which blows in summer nearly daily, quite gusty with 6-7bf t and more.

In the north the island offers also some spots for all skill levels, which are fast and easily attainable. The Top Spot and thus the center of the Kite and Windsurffreaks, is a half hour distant from the airport and located at the east coast of the island Corralejo, Flag Beach.

In summer (May - September) the Side Shore/Flat-water conditions can be use here almost daily, for long sessions. Approximately 3km of the 7km long sand beach are reserved for Kitesurfer.

From March to May and from October to November you normally find shallow water and constant wind. In the winter months it can be too wavy.

For beginners and others who want to improve their surfing our professional coaches are available at any time.

   

Glas Beach

A few kilometer more south of the flag Beach you can find the smaller GlassBeach, where you also have to divide the beach with bathers and Windsurfers. However this area offers perfect down-the-line wave conditions.

   

Cotillo

 

At ebb-tide, or if the wind once does not blow on the eastern side, one should change over to the west side of the island. Cotillo can be attained from Corralejo within 25min. by car. The Surf beach lies a kilometer left far away from the village. In addition, by the thermionics here the wind, somewhat gustier, blows side shore from right.
In the winter Cotillo has a brutal shore break, which makes this place a Mecca for wave riders.

   

North Shore

For wave-addicted this coast region offers some challenges. The North shore lies between Corralejo and Cotillo and can be reach likewise well with the car. Particularly wave riders visit this place (European Hawaii) during the winter months.

Wind

The windy season with trade wind is enough from May to Septembers. The northeast trade wind blows with four to six wind forces, if a stable Azores high formed. In the winter you have still a probability of wind of 50% and mostly waves
