Kiteboarding Fuerteventura
Kiteboarding is one of the fastest growing sports worldwide. Kiteboarding or Kitesurfing combines aspects of wakeboarding, surfing, paragliding, snowboarding and more. Kiteboarding allows you to jump and touch the sky aswell as surfing so many waves in one day, you never thought it would be possible. Kiting with a buggy or landboard or with skies or snowboard are other great ways to experience the fascinating sport.
Over the last few years, many advances have been made in kiteboarding. The equipment also has seen a lot of positive changes, which makes the sport more safe and the learning curve less steep. What used to take people weeks or months to learn now only takes a few days. Almost everybody can learn how to kiteboard, even kids. Kiteboarding in the first days is challenging to learn, but it does not require as much physical strength, as you may think. Even though kitesurfing has become much easier to learn, lessons are still mandatory!
What to expect from a kiteboarding lesson
A good way to learn kitesurfing is to start with a 2 to 3 day introductory course, which covers all the aspects of kiteboarding such as flying a trainer kite, learning to set up the equipment, explaining the wind window , safety rules, weather and water conditions, body dragging, relaunching the kite, waterstart and at the end of day 2 or 3 you can even try to get on the board and start to ride!
After this course, normally people go on with advanced/waterwork classes, as not too many students are able to continue riding on their own directly after the introduction lessons. The main word is practice, practice, practice what you have already learned. The advanced classes will get you riding with the goal of going upwind: this is the first big step you want to achieve. Being able to ride upwind, as we say, means that you have achieved the level of an independent kitesurfer. Now the time comes to think of getting your own gear.
Another very good option is to take private lessons, which will help you to achieve your goals faster, as you have the teacher for you alone!
